Highway closed due to snowfall
In Khabarovsk Krai, due to heavy snowfall, traffic of all types of transport has been temporarily restricted on the Selikhino — Nikolayevsk-on-Amur highway. This was reported by the regional Ministry of Transport. The restrictions have been in effect since 11:00 local time on November 7: the section from the village of Bogorodskoye to Nikolayevsk-on-Amur is closed, as well as the access roads to the villages of Lazarevo and Ozerpakh.
What is known about the timeline and road work
According to the Ministry of Transport, special equipment is operating on the closed sections. The highway is expected to remain closed for about a day; the agency promised to announce any changes separately. For residents of Nikolayevsk-on-Amur and nearby villages, this means that road traffic on this section is unavailable while the work is underway, and the timeline for restoring traffic has so far been given only as an estimate.
Snowfall also worsened the situation in the south of the country
On the same day, according to Gazeta.Ru, wet snow caused a transport collapse and massive power outages in Krasnodar Krai. The areas at greatest risk were the mountainous regions of Kuban — the surroundings of Krasnaya Polyana, Mezmaya and Neftegorsk. A storm warning is in effect in Sochi and the federal territory of Sirius; snow drifts are forming on the highways, visibility has dropped sharply, and traffic is difficult.
