Video statement after the detentions
The conflict between business partners over the construction company Imarat Development took a new turn after the detention of its head, Marat Khamdamov. According to Kun.uz, the company's ambassador, actress Shahzoda Mukhamedova — Khamdamov's wife — released a video statement in which she declared that «the time has come to reveal the truth», called herself a victim, and asked people for forgiveness.
The essence of the accusations
In her statement, Mukhamedova claims that Jasur Azizov, together with an accountant named Hilola and his team, «conspired», taking advantage of her and her husband. According to her, Marat Khairullaevich, as an investor, managed the sales office and construction sites, while Azizov was exclusively occupied with his own real estate abroad — in Germany, London, Dubai and Turkey. She named Azizov as the main cause of the company's problems.
What is known about the case and the buyers' complaints
Last week, after numerous complaints from buyers, a criminal case was opened against the leadership of Imarat Development, and Marat Khamdamov and Jasur Azizov were detained under procedural procedure. At the same time, as Kun.uz notes, despite the active promotion of numerous projects in which Mukhamedova called herself the head and author of some of them, there is no information that even a single property has been handed over to owners to date; Khamdamov himself also gave no specifics about completed buildings.
Mutual accusations between the partners
Mukhamedova is not the first of the spouses to publicly accuse Azizov: earlier Khamdamov himself made a series of accusations against him. According to Khamdamov, in a phone conversation Azizov stated his intention to cover the damage inflicted on the company — several million dollars by Khamdamov's estimate — through a bank loan, which Khamdamov refused to accept. After that, Khamdamov claims, without his consent the company was renamed from Imarat Development to Imtiyaz, and then Azizov allegedly gathered a group of people around him to apply pressure, threatened him with death and discreditation, obstructed his access to the office, and spread information portraying him as a fraudster to clients.
What remains unclear
The Kun.uz publication presents the versions of the parties to the conflict — the statements by Mukhamedova and Khamdamov about Azizov are their claims, not conclusions confirmed by the investigation. The details of the criminal case, the specific charges brought against the detainees, and the fate of the buyers are not disclosed in the published materials.
