Restrictions on four sections

In Bashkortostan, due to deteriorating weather, additional traffic restrictions were imposed on four more roads on November 6: passage was temporarily closed for trucks and passenger transport. This was reported by emergency services, according to Life.ru.

Which roads are affected

The restrictions are in effect on the Burayevo — Starobaltachevo — Kuyeda highway from kilometer 0 to 98 (Burayevsky, Baltachevsky and Tatyshlinsky districts) and on the Neftekamsk — Yanaul road from kilometer 0 to 49 (Krasnokamsky and Yanaulsky districts). Two more sections are in the northeast of the republic: the Kropachevo — Mesyagutovo — Achit highway from kilometer 8 to 159 in the Salavatsky, Duvansky and Mechetlinsky districts, as well as the Yanaul — Verkhniye Tatyshly road from kilometer 0 to 55.

Weather and restoration timeline

Preliminarily, traffic is planned to be restored by 14:00 local time on November 6 (12:00 Moscow time), but the final decision will depend on weather conditions and road conditions. Earlier, the regional branch of the Emergency Ministry warned about dangerous weather in the republic: wind with gusts of up to 26 m/s, heavy precipitation, blizzards and snow drifts were forecast, and visibility on some road sections may drop to 500 meters or less. Drivers are asked to take the restrictions into account when planning routes and, if possible, avoid long trips; in an emergency, call 112.

Context

This is not the only case of road closures due to bad weather: earlier Life.ru reported the closure of the intermunicipal Tymovskoye — Aleksandrovsk-Sakhalinsky highway on Sakhalin, where, due to heavy snowfall, gusty winds and poor visibility, passage was temporarily banned for almost all types of transport, with an exception made for emergency services and high-mobility special equipment.
