The Dawn party has been added to the foreign agents registry

Russia's Ministry of Justice has added the Dawn party, led by Yekaterina Duntsova*, to the foreign agents registry — the relevant information appeared in the ministry's registry, reported the outlet Life.ru. Duntsova* herself has been in the registry since May 31, 2024: at that time the Ministry of Justice added her to the list along with a number of individuals, the Path Home movement, the internet project SOTA, and the Republic project.

Who is Yekaterina Duntsova

Yekaterina Duntsova* is a journalist, lawyer, and former deputy of the Rzhev City Duma, where she served from 2019 to 2022. In late 2023, she tried to run as a candidate in Russia's 2024 presidential election as a self-nominated candidate, but the Central Election Commission refused to register her initiative group due to violations in the submitted documents. After the presidential campaign, she set about creating the Dawn party, which has now been added to the foreign agents registry.
