The Bank of Russia has determined the list of cryptocurrencies that may be available to non-qualified investors. It includes Bitcoin (Bitcoin), Ether (Ethereum), and USDT, the regulator's press service reported. According to the document, the relevant directive will come into force on November 17 — from that moment, exchanges will be entitled to admit these assets to public circulation.
Moscow Exchange is preparing for trading
The day before, Boris Blokhin, Senior Managing Director for Sales and Business Development at Moscow Exchange, said that the platform plans to launch trading in the three main cryptocurrencies — Bitcoin, Ether, and USDT — on December 1. According to him, trading is expected to take place during the maximum possible stock market hours — from 7 a.m. to midnight, from the morning trading session to the evening one.
Context: anti-money laundering measures
It was previously reported that the Central Bank has developed rules for combating the laundering of criminal proceeds in cryptocurrency transactions. Under the initiative, digital depositories will be able to refuse clients the opening of crypto wallets and suspend transactions with digital currency if they lack the necessary information about the parties to the transactions. The draft regulation on internal control for combating the laundering of criminal proceeds, the financing of terrorism, and extremist activity was published for public discussion.
