Memorandum with a Korean university

South Korea's Hanseo University plans to organize vocational training courses in high-tech fields in Uzbekistan, the Migration Agency reports. The agency signed a memorandum of understanding with the university, which provides for vocational training programs and assistance with employment for participants who successfully complete their studies.

What the programs will include

The list of training areas includes aircraft maintenance and repair, unmanned technologies, artificial intelligence, software development, and logistics. Additionally, the programs include Korean language study and the basics of occupational safety. Under the memorandum, Hanseo will develop curricula, recruit qualified instructors, and provide equipment, as well as help graduates find jobs at partner companies. On the agency's side — informing citizens about the programs, advising on applications, and coordinating cooperation with relevant bodies in both countries.

Context: a course toward training drone specialists

The memorandum complements other steps in this direction. On November 4, Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed proposals to expand the use of drones in Uzbekistan's economy and their regulation; the presentation proposed launching drone specialist training at the Transport University starting from the 2027—2028 academic year. Earlier, Spot also reportedthat Korea's BOMI Engineering & Construction would train specialists in Uzbekistan. At the same time, the memorandum with Hanseo remains a signed agreement of intent: specific timelines for launching the courses and enrollment volumes have not yet been disclosed.
