A farewell that the chapel could not hold
On November 5, at the Rostov cemetery in the village of Bolshiye Saly, relatives and friends bid farewell to 41-year-old Andrei and 40-year-old Ruslana Sukharevich — the couple killed after a conflict in the parking lot of the Yekaterininsky residential complex in Rostov-on-Don. More than 200 people came to see them off on their final journey, and the small chapel could not accommodate everyone who wished to attend. The burial site was covered with flowers and funeral wreaths. Details of the ceremony are reported by Komsomolskaya Pravda — Rostov-on-Don citing its own report.
The children did not see their parents' faces
The ceremony was attended by the three children of the deceased — a 15-year-old daughter, a ten-year-old son, and an eight-year-old girl. The couple was buried in closed coffins, so the children were unable to see their parents' faces one last time. According to Life.ru, the farewell was especially hard on the elder daughter: when the graves were covered with earth and crosses were placed, the girl sank down beside the burial and wept for a long time. The adults, too, could not hold back their emotions — an ambulance was on duty at the cemetery; mothers and sisters of the deceased sought medical help, and elderly relatives were supported by loved ones throughout the ceremony.
What is known about the crime and the suspect
The tragedy occurred on October 30 near the Yekaterininsky residential complex. According to the investigation, a conflict broke out between the couple and their 26-year-old neighbor, after which the man forcibly put Andrei and Ruslana into their car and drove away. The bodies of the couple, showing signs of violent death, were later found in the Aksay district of Rostov Region. The suspect was detained on November 1, and the court ordered him held in custody until December 30. The case is being investigated under articles on kidnapping and the murder of two people; investigative actions continue. Earlier, Life.ru reported the arrest of this suspect and stated that, according to the investigation, dismemberment was also involved; a later publication does not mention this episode.
What happens to the children now
The three orphaned children are currently staying with their maternal grandmother, who has obtained temporary guardianship. Other relatives are also ready to care for them, and the family plans to involve psychologists to help the children cope with the loss of their parents.
