The cat died after falling from the fourth floor
In Omsk, a 45-year-old man threw a pet cat out of a fourth-floor window after a domestic argument; the animal could not be saved. This was reported by the Interior Ministry Directorate for the Omsk Region (based on materials from Gazeta.Ru).
What happened in the apartment
According to police, the accused argued with his 17-year-old stepson, after which the teenager left home. Angry, the head of the family grabbed the cat and threw it out of the fourth-floor window. It all happened in front of the Omsk resident's seven-year-old daughter. The girl's mother learned of the incident only when she returned home from work in the evening.
Legal consequences
A criminal case of animal cruelty has been opened — the suspect faces up to five years in prison. In addition, juvenile affairs inspectors are conducting an inquiry, since a seven-year-old girl witnessed the incident.
Similar cases in other regions
Gazeta.Ru recalls two similar incidents. In the Saratov Region, a case was opened against a man who threw kittens out of a window; local residents said that a year earlier a tomcat and a female cat had been thrown out of the same window — one pet died in front of children, and the second was taken to a veterinary clinic but could not be saved. It was also reported that in Moscow a wild cat valued at 1.5 million rubles was thrown out of an eighth-floor window.
