Crash near Shigayevo claims the lives of four people

A fatal accident occurred on November 6 at the 30th kilometer of the Naberezhnye Chelny — Sarmanovo highway, near the village of Shigayevo in the Sarmanovsky district of Tatarstan. A Lada Xray passenger car collided with a Volvo truck. According to the preliminary version, the driver of the passenger car lost control and drove into the oncoming lane, where it collided with the heavy truck. This was reported by the republic's prosecutor's office, quoted by Life.ru.

The victims and the injured

As a result of the collision, the driver of the Lada and three of his passengers suffered fatal injuries — four people in total, including a child. The sole survivor was a 13-year-old girl: she was taken to a hospital in Naberezhnye Chelny in critical condition. Investigators still have to establish the exact cause of the collision.

Investigation under prosecutorial oversight

Sarmanovsky district prosecutor Alexei Panishev traveled to the scene. The oversight agency has taken the procedural investigation under its control, within which all circumstances of the accident are to be established. It should be noted that the preliminary version about driving into the oncoming lane has not yet been officially confirmed — final conclusions are possible only after the investigation is completed.

A series of serious accidents in the republic

This accident was one of several serious road accidents in Tatarstan recently. Earlier, Life.ru reported on a mass crash at a railway crossing near Almetyevsk, where a van collided with five passenger cars at once and five people were injured. Another accident occurred on the M-12 Vostok highway in the Laishevsky district: a passenger bus collided with two trucks there, and seven people were injured.
