Verdict for a former minister
The Pervomaysky District Court of Krasnodar found former Minister of Civil Defense and Emergency Situations of Krasnodar Krai Sergei Shtrikov guilty of abuse of official powers and sentenced him to six and a half years in a general-regime penal colony. This was reported by the unified press service of the courts of Krasnodar Krai, which is cited by Gazeta.Ru. In addition to the prison term, the court stripped Shtrikov of the special rank of 'police major' and ordered him to pay more than 14 million rubles in compensation for property damage to ZAO Yugmontazhspetsstroy.
What the scheme involved
According to the case materials, in July 2024, while holding the ministerial post, Shtrikov ordered the preparation of falsified documents about violations in order to annul the results of an already completed auction for the construction and installation of a prefabricated fire station. As a result, the legitimate winner of the tender — ZAO Yugmontazhspetsstroy — lost the contract. After the tender was annulled, a repeat auction was held, in which the firm OOO SK Gorod won; according to the investigation, the official lobbied for its interests. For organizing this scheme, the investigation asserts, he expected to receive a reward of 20 million rubles.
The defendant's position
Shtrikov did not plead guilty to the crime he was charged with. The practical outcome of the case for the injured party looks like this: the company that lost the contract due to the annulment of the tender receives a court ruling ordering the former official to pay damages, while the contract itself went to another firm in the repeat auction. The outlet also notes that the court previously handed down a verdict to a former deputy governor of Yugra — a separate case unrelated to this proceeding.
