- The list includes more than 100 over-the-counter medicines
The experiment has launched in two regions
The Russian government has launched an experiment on selling in-demand medicines in rural post offices and mobile pharmacy points, the press service of the Russian Health Ministry reported. The Nizhny Novgorod and Kursk regions are taking part, and the project will run until September 1, 2029.
What exactly is changing
The sale of medicines in post offices is permitted in villages where there are no pharmacy or medical organizations. The list includes more than 100 over-the-counter medicines most in demand for outpatient treatment. Mobile pharmacy points will serve rural settlements without stationary pharmacies; the stated goal is to improve access to medicines for residents of remote areas.
'Pharmacies on wheels': what was known earlier
Life.ru previously reported on preparations for the experiment with 'pharmacies on wheels'. According to the outlet, the State Duma explained that the routes and travel schedules of mobile points are determined by the regions, and residents should be notified in advance of arrival times. Thus, the launched experiment puts these agreements into practice: specific participating regions, the list of medicines, and the project's duration have now been determined.
