Utility problems have been going on for more than a year

Residents of a nine-story building on Dnepropetrovskaya Street in Moscow — building No. 27, block 1, in the Chertanovo Tsentralnoye district — have been trying for more than a year to get their utility problems resolved. This is reported by SHOT PROVERKA in an installment of the #ZKKHANTER project. According to the owners, the building's basement has been flooded with sewage for weeks, fleas have infested the entrances, and the building is gradually falling apart: there is mold in the apartments, plaster is crumbling from the ceilings, and steps are deteriorating. The elevators break down regularly, and in October heating outages were added to the list of problems.

The door, the emergency service, and the bills

A separate concern for residents was the heavy entrance door, which, they claim, nearly came off its hinges and went unrepaired for more than two days, although it could have injured people. According to the owners, it is practically impossible to reach the housing cooperative's emergency service. There are also complaints about the bills: residents say they face erroneous charges, missing services, and missing meter readings.

An attempt to change the management company

Against the backdrop of these protracted problems, the owners decided to stop using the services of the homeowners' association 'Dnepropetrovskaya 27 k 1' and transfer the building to the management of the state budgetary institution 'Zhilishchnik'. By the end of October, the initiative group had managed to collect about 33% of the owners' votes. Changing the management company is complicated by the building's peculiarities: it previously served as a dormitory for the ZIL factory, so many communal apartments remain in it, and part of the premises, according to residents, still belongs to the enterprise. For now, the residents continue collecting votes.
