At a ceremony marking the 25th anniversary of Rosfinmonitoring, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Russia's financial intelligence is capable of operating at the level of the world's best standards and, in certain areas, surpasses foreign services. «You have proven in practice that Russian financial intelligence is capable of working at the level of the best world standards, and in some ways even better, in some ways superior,» — reports his words, Life.ru.
The agency's role and its tasks
According to the president, over a quarter of a century Rosfinmonitoring has become one of the most important structures ensuring the country's financial security, and its work plays a significant role in protecting Russia's state and economic sovereignty. The service is engaged in combating money laundering, detecting suspicious financial transactions and cutting off channels of terrorism financing, while using modern digital technologies and analytical tools. Putin also highly praised the professionalism of the staff, thanks to whom a system for countering financial crimes has been formed in Russia, and noted that the agency continues to develop cooperation with foreign partners.
Anniversary congratulations and a call to implement AI
Earlier, on November 1, Putin sent the agency congratulations on its 25th anniversary, in which he noted successes in the fight against corruption and terrorism and emphasized that Rosfinmonitoring is actively implementing digital technologies to analyze financial transactions, protect budget funds and uncover criminal schemes.
