Russian President Vladimir Putin named the deepening of international cooperation as one of the significant areas of Rosfinmonitoring's work. He made this statement at a ceremonial event dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Federal Service for Financial Monitoring, reports Life.ru.
Priority — partners in BRICS, SCO, CIS, CSTO and EAEU
According to Putin, special attention should be paid to cooperation with the financial intelligence units of BRICS, SCO, CIS, CSTO and Eurasian Group states. “Another significant area is the deepening of international cooperation, primarily with partners from BRICS, SCO, CIS, CSTO and Eurasian Group countries,” Life.ru quotes him as saying.
Data exchange as the basis of cooperation
The President emphasized that the effective work of financial intelligence units is impossible without the constant exchange of data on suspicious transactions, professional experience and proven methods of countering illegal financial schemes. In his view, such cooperation helps states jointly counter transnational financial crimes and strengthen economic independence, while the regular exchange of operational information contributes to the financial security and sovereignty of each participating country.
