Appeal dismissed
The Moscow City Court upheld the ruling on the lawsuit filed by Vitaly Borodin, head of the Federal Project on Security and Anti-Corruption (FPBK), against People's Artist of the USSR Alla Pugacheva over the protection of honor, dignity and business reputation. The public figure's appeal was left unsatisfied, according to court materials obtained by RIA Novosti. «To leave the court ruling unchanged and the appeal unsatisfied», the documents say.
The essence of the dispute and the parties' positions
The dispute arose from Pugacheva's interview with journalist Ekaterina Gordeeva (included in Russia's Ministry of Justice list of foreign agents), in which the singer addressed Borodin, mentioning informers and snitches. The public figure considered these words damaging to his reputation and demanded through the court a retraction, as well as 5 million rubles in compensation for moral harm. According to him, in the event of victory he intended to send the money to the needs of the special military operation.
What the court of first instance decided
The Presnensky District Court of Moscow considered the lawsuit on June 5, 2026 and fully denied Borodin's claims. Pugacheva's representative insisted during the proceedings that the artist had not directly called the plaintiff an informer or a snitch. Disagreeing with this decision, Borodin filed an appeal, which the Moscow City Court has now dismissed — thus, the denial of the lawsuit has been finally confirmed at the city level.
