The key facts

  • More than ten flights of European airlines received security threats on November 5, mostly bomb reports
  • Aircraft of Aer Lingus, LOT, Finnair and Wizz Air changed their routes; landings were carried out without incidents
  • This is already the second wave of threats within a week: on November 3, seven aircraft received warnings, and no explosives were found on any of them

A new wave of threats affected more than ten flights

On November 5, 2026, more than ten flights operated by European airlines faced security threats — mostly bomb threats on board. This is reported by European media, carriers and law enforcement agencies; some aircraft changed their routes, while others arrived safely at their destinations (Life.ru).

Diverted flights and checks

An Aer Lingus aircraft flying from Dublin to Rome, after a bomb threat, was diverted to the Évreux military airbase in Normandy; the airline confirmed a safe landing. According to the Bulgarian TV channel BNT, three more aircraft heading to Sofia were forced to land in Bulgaria after similar warnings — according to media reports, the threats were sent by email.

Prague, Brussels and Vienna

The Czech police received reports of bomb threats against four flights to Prague; law enforcement assessed the threat as low but applied the necessary security measures. A LOT airliner from Warsaw landed in Brussels after a suspicious message about the flight — according to the Belga agency, after an assessment the police decided not to introduce additional measures, and the nature of the message is not being disclosed. In addition, according to LaPresse, a Wizz Air aircraft operating a Milan–Warsaw flight made an emergency landing in Vienna after an explosion threat.

Second wave within a week

This is already the second series of such incidents in a few days: on November 3, seven passenger aircraft in Europe received warnings about possible bombs. After checks, no explosives were found on any of the aircraft, and at that time only the LOT plane had to change its route — the rest reached their destination airports. The November 5 reports do not mention delays or injuries; Finnair, in particular, described two incidents involving its flights (landings in Rome and Vienna) as false bomb threats.
