Massive attack and its consequences
On the night of November 5, more than 200 Ukrainian drones were detected and destroyed in the sky over Ryazan Region. This was reported by the region's governor Pavel Malkov on the Max messenger; his words are cited by Gazeta.Ru and Life.ru. According to the governor, one person was injured in the attack and is receiving medical assistance.
What was damaged
Falling debris caused fires at industrial facilities in Ryazan. Damaged power lines led to electricity outages in part of the city. Windows were shattered at School No. 58, and classes there were cancelled. In the Ryazan District, private houses were damaged, and in the Rybnovsky District, according to Gazeta.Ru, a non-residential building in a private residential area caught fire. Malkov also asked Ryazan residents to limit travel around the city where possiblewhile services work to deal with the consequences of the attack.
The situation by morning
By the morning of November 5, according to Malkov's updated statement, electricity supply in Ryazan had been restored, and the fires that broke out had been extinguished or contained — contained fires are still being fought. The governor thanked the emergency services for their work. Gazeta.Ru also notes, citing previously published reports, that overnight almost 500 Ukrainian drones attempted to attack Russia as a whole; these figures relate to different scales — the regional and nationwide reports — and come from different sources.
