Remote participation and the discussion moved to NATO
US President's special envoy Jared Kushner joined the Ukraine consultations in Brussels remotely — Politico reported this citing sources, as relayed by Life.ru. The American delegation decided not to travel to the Belgian capital in person, and the discussion of security guarantees for Kyiv was moved to NATO headquarters. The discussions involved representatives of Ukraine, the US, the European Commission, NATO, France, Germany, the United Kingdom and the World Bank; one of the central topics was Ukraine's post-war reconstruction and economic support for Kyiv.
A separate track on security guarantees
The issue of so-called security guarantees has been moved to a separate negotiating track: on November 5, representatives of the US, the UK, France, Germany and the alliance are to discuss it at NATO headquarters. Thus, the Brussels round effectively split into a general discussion of reconstruction and the economy, and a separate format on security.
The next stage — Abu Dhabi
According to the outlet, Kushner is becoming increasingly involved in the settlement: at the next stage he is to represent Washington, together with Steve Witkoff, at trilateral consultations between Russia, the US and Ukraine in Abu Dhabi, scheduled for November 10–11. The Russian delegation will be led by presidential aide Vladimir Medinsky. Life.ru previously reportedthat Kushner will join the American delegation after skipping the meeting with Vladimir Putin in St. Petersburg in October. The outlet also noted that the meeting between US and Ukrainian representatives in Finland fell through at the last moment, and the US–Europe meeting in Brussels ended without results.
