The Yangiyol court's verdict

The criminal court of Yangiyol (Tashkent region) has sentenced a 28-year-old man to life imprisonment for the murder of his wife and violence against his young daughter. This was reported by the publication Kun.uz citing the Zamon program. According to the publication, the convict will serve his sentence in a maximum-security colony.

Circumstances of the case

According to the presented version of events, on the morning of June 7, 2026, the accused, identified as Kh.K., arrived in a state of intoxication at the house where his wife lived, opened the door with a key he had and entered. Out of jealousy, he planned to kill his 24-year-old wife, and at around 7:30 in the living room of the house he struck her on the head and strangled her. The noise woke the girl born in 2023 — according to the investigation, the father then assaulted her in the room, and afterwards, to conceal the crime, placed the child's body in a black sports bag, took it to the house where his father lived, and left it in the toilet.

The defendant's position and the court's decision

Despite the case materials, witness testimony and physical evidence, the defendant did not admit his guilt. 'This is my daughter, my child. How could I do such a thing? I loved my children, my family,' he said, according to Kun.uz. Nevertheless, the court found him guilty of the deaths of his wife and child and sentenced him to life imprisonment. The publication also recalls a verdict previously handed down in Guzor: a man who burned a woman and her four children also received a life sentence.
