Visit to Kashkadarya and the projects presented

The head of the Administration of the President of Uzbekistan, Saida Mirziyoyeva, visited Kashkadarya Region on 4 November, where she reviewed socio-economic development projects and conditions in social institutions, Gazeta reports. Regional governor Murotjon Azimov presented projects on improving water supply, developing tourism, healthcare and education. In the old-town part of Karshi, on the territory of the ancient Nasaf fortress, infrastructure for tourists is planned to be improved.

The canal, water and medicine

Work will soon begin in Karshi on concreting the Chap Tarmok canal and landscaping its banks: this will provide water for 1,400 hectares of land and local residents. Recreation areas and walking routes will appear along the canal, which, according to Saida Mirziyoyeva, will become a point of attraction for 25,000 residents of four nearby mahallas. In healthcare, 10 facilities are planned to be reconstructed in the region in 2027 and one new one built. These are stated plans so far, not work already underway.

Kindergarten and school: what was decided on the spot

In Karshi, the head of the Presidential Administration visited School No. 43 and Kindergarten No. 1. 'It was hard to see that the kindergarten is in a dilapidated state, and the school classrooms are cold with old desks. But childhood does not wait, and we are obliged to solve these problems without delay,' she wrote on Telegram. Following the visit, it was decided to build a new kindergarten on the site of the old one — for 360 places — and to fully renovate the school building, turning it into 'a modern educational institution with advanced laboratories, active creative clubs and, importantly, an inclusive environment for children with special needs.' She then spoke with students and staff of the new Kashkadarya Advanced Vocational Skills College. 'Our main goal is to ensure that from their first steps in kindergarten until they enter adult life, all our children grow up and study in truly worthy conditions,' Mirziyoyeva emphasized.

The narcological facility and reform plans

Saida Mirziyoyeva also visited the regional narcological facility — according to her, in order to 'see the situation from the inside and begin implementing changes in the most problematic places.' 'Along with basic treatment conditions and the professionalism of doctors, simple human warmth can give strength to a person in trouble. No one should be afraid to ask for help or be left alone with their pain,' she wrote. She stated the goal of creating a unified system where prevention, treatment and rehabilitation work as a coordinated mechanism in the hands of a single multidisciplinary team. A special program for the radical transformation of the sector is being developed together with domestic and international experts; the timing of its adoption and specific measures are not named in the publication.
