- The Karasu, Feruza, Yalangach and other neighborhoods of the Mirzo Ulugbek district were affected
What happened
On November 4, photos and videos spread on social media showing brown hot water coming out of taps in some apartments in Tashkent. Veolia Energy Tashkent commented on the situation the same day, linking the change in water color to work being carried out in preparation for the heating season, reports Zamon.uz.
The company's explanation
According to the company, the water circulation system is currently being adjusted on the main networks. Due to changes in pressure and the regulation of flow, natural deposits that accumulated over the summer are being flushed from the pipe walls. Therefore, in some apartments a temporary change in water color or an unpleasant odor is possible — in particular, in the Karasu, Feruza, Yalangach and other neighborhoods of the Mirzo Ulugbek district.
What Veolia is doing and what residents are asked to do
The company is draining stagnant water at the main nodes of the trunk networks and flushing individual sections. Residents of apartments with murky water are advised not to drain it themselves, but to submit a request via the Telegram bot indicating the district, neighborhood and house number: requests are forwarded to dispatchers, and specialists are sent to flush the corresponding section of pipe. Veolia apologized for the temporary inconvenience and said it is taking measures to return the system to normal.
