Lawsuit to dissolve the foundation

Russia's Ministry of Justice has filed a lawsuit seeking the liquidation of the charitable foundation of two-time Olympic track and field champion Yelena Isinbayeva. The petition was submitted to the Central District Court of Volgograd; the ministry is also demanding that the foundation be removed from the Unified State Register of Legal Entities. RIA Novosti reports this, citing the situation around the lawsuit, which is covered by Gazeta.Ru.

Grounds for the lawsuit

According to the Ministry of Justice, the foundation failed to submit the required reports and information and did not receive correspondence. The organization was sent letters demanding that it remedy the violations, but these demands were not fulfilled, the ministry's press service noted.

Earlier, her accounts in Russian banks were blocked. The athlete currently lives in Tenerife, Spain.
