The key facts

  • Okhlobystin links success with loneliness and big earnings with the absence of friends
  • The actor called the series «Interny» a special place in his career
  • Earlier he admitted that his need for solitude sometimes hurts his wife

On the price of success and the philosophy of balance

Actor Ivan Okhlobystin gave an interview to HELLO! magazine, in which he spoke about his view of his career and his life philosophy. According to him, success comes at the price of loneliness, and big earnings at the price of having no friends. The actor believes that nature always compensates for gains with losses, so it is important to maintain balance. He sees his recipe for cheerfulness in deliberately putting himself in a situation where the only way out is victory.

On career, envy and earnings

Okhlobystin noted that he feels not envy but actorly admiration for his colleagues' successes, and does not attach excessive importance to his appearance. A special place in his career belongs to the TV series Interny (Interns), which, in his words, was successfully completed without «making a fool of oneself». At the same time, the actor treats talk of a great acting mission with irony: «I earn money, to be honest, and I try to approach it responsibly». He also remarked that his creative path has unfolded harmoniously — from roles as villains and brigands to «Pechkin», whom children love.

Context of previous statements

This is not the actor's first recent statement about personal boundaries. Shortly before the HELLO! interview, Okhlobystin admitted that his desire to be in complete solitude sometimes hurts his wife Oksana Arbuzova: because of his profession he is almost always surrounded by people and regularly needs a break from communication. In addition, he previously explained why he is not invited to act in erotic films. His new words about the «price of success» in fact continue the same theme — the actor consistently speaks of the need for solitude as the price of the profession he has chosen.
