Average payments rose by almost three thousand over the year

The average pension of working pensioners in Russia as of September 1, 2026 amounted to 24,057 rubles. A year earlier, in September 2025, the same figure was approximately 21,345 rubles, meaning the payment increased by more than 2.7 thousand rubles over the year. These figures come from statistics of the Social Fund of Russia, analyzed by RIA Novosti, as reported by Life.ru.

How this compares with pensions of all pensioners

Rosstat provides a separate figure: the average pension among all Russian pensioners — both working and non-working — in September was about 25.5 thousand rubles, having grown by 8.3% over the year. A comparison of the two figures shows that payments to working pensioners are on average about 1.4 thousand rubles lower than the national averages. At the same time, both figures are averages: the actual pension amount of a particular person depends on length of service, earnings, and other circumstances.

What is happening with payments in November

According to the State Duma,as cited by Life.ru, in November a number of categories of pensioners can expect an increase in payments: after reaching the age of 80, the fixed portion of the old-age insurance pension doubles, and disabled persons of group I are entitled to a similar increase that does not stack with the age supplement. In addition, some pensions will be paid early due to the celebration of National Unity Day — on November 3, and payments to former pilots and coal industry workers will be recalculated taking individual indicators into account.
