A hunting trip in Mongolia after the Bahamas wedding

48-year-old Donald Trump Jr., the son of the US president, traveled to Mongolia for a hunting trip in August 2026 and spent two days there with Umar Kremlev, the head of the International Boxing Association (IBA), who is considered close to the Kremlin. This is reported by Financial Times, and Kun.uz also reports, citing its publication Kun.uz.

Who is Umar Kremlev

Umar Kremlev (his real surname is Lutfulloev) has headed the IBA since 2020. According to Financial Times, under his leadership the organization received multimillion-dollar sums from Gazprom, and in 2023 the International Olympic Committee stripped the association of the right to hold Olympic boxing tournaments due to the opacity of its funding sources. In 2024, Kremlev became the owner of the Rolf car dealership: the Proekt outlet previously reported that he obtained the company thanks to his friendship with Alexey Rubezhnoy, head of security for the Russian president, and that he also owns a number of assets in the lottery and betting business.

Ties to the Trump family and details of the trip

Kremlev's name had already been linked to the Trump family: in September 2026, media reported that he had paid part of the expenses for Trump Jr.'s wedding in the Bahamas, after which Democrats in the US Congress launched an investigation. Later, the president's son said he had returned the money to Kremlev. Financial Times specifies that Trump Jr. flew to Ulaanbaatar at the end of August — immediately after that very wedding — and headed to a camp in the west of the country, traveling several hundred kilometers from the capital. There he spent two days with a small group of guides, drivers and cooks; Kremlev also joined him, accompanied by businessman Artur Martirosyan, a partner at the Voskhod venture fund, which is under US sanctions. Kremlev himself posted videos from Mongolia together with Martirosyan on his Telegram channel on August 30. According to the outlet, the trip was raffled off at a charity auction: one of the auction winners was accompanied on the hunt, and besides Trump Jr. and Kremlev (the latter did not participate in the auction), longtime Republican Party supporter Kevin Small also came to Mongolia.
