The key facts
- Borisova withdrew the complaint against her daughter Polina; the case had been opened by the MVD department for the Filiovsky Park district
- Polina denies the theft and claims her mother offered the show “Pryamoy Efir” a staged program
- The daughter still refuses to make contact with her mother
The complaint has been withdrawn
TV presenter Dana Borisova has withdrawn the police complaint she filed against her 19-year-old daughter Polina — this was reported by StarHit citing Borisova herself. Earlier, at the end of October, it became known that the TV presenter accused her daughter of stealing 120,000 rubles: according to her, police found Polina's fingerprints on the dresser where the money was kept, after which the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs department for the Filiovsky Park district opened a criminal case.
Motives and the daughter's reaction
Borisova explained that she withdrew the complaint because she did not want to ruin her daughter's life. At the same time, according to her, Polina still refuses to make contact: “She wouldn't engage in dialogue at all and took my withdrawal of the complaint as a matter of course. I didn't even hear a simple 'thank you',” StarHit quotes the TV presenter as saying. She also stated that she was ready to financially help her daughter rent an apartment and suggested that living separately might improve their relationship, but that the conflict “could have been discussed like human beings, not in public.”
Polina's position
Polina Borisova herself previously stated that she did not steal the money. According to her, her mother offered the team of the TV show “Pryamoy Efir” (Live Broadcast) to stage a program about this “theft”; the show's staff asked the young woman about participating, and she refused. In addition, the TV presenter's daughter previously accused her mother of violence. Thus, the withdrawal of the complaint does not mean a reconciliation: according to published reports, the conflict between mother and daughter continues, and the parties' accounts of what happened remain opposite.
