Damage to DTEK facilities
The energy holding DTEK reported on its Telegram channel that two of its facilities in the Dnipropetrovsk region had been damaged. “Energy equipment has been seriously damaged, including two facilities,” the company said in its post. According to DTEK, as a result of the incident, a significant part of Dnipropetrovsk and the adjacent districts of the region were left without electricity. This is reported by Gazeta.Ru.
Weekly context: blackouts and reports
DTEK's statement continues a series of reports about strikes on energy infrastructure. Earlier, as the outlet notes, in the Chernivtsi region in western Ukraine the power was cut off due to damage to an energy facility: the head of the regional administration, Ruslan Osypenko, linked the outage to the fall of debris from a jet-powered attack drone. Before that, Russian forces, according to reports, struck transport infrastructure in Kyiv.
Russian Defense Ministry report
On October 30, the Russian Defense Ministry announced that over the past week the Armed Forces carried out two massive and nine group strikes on facilities in Ukraine. According to the ministry, military industry enterprises, logistics centers, as well as energy and transport infrastructure facilities used in the interests of the Ukrainian Armed Forces were hit. These statements come from the Russian military ministry and have not been independently confirmed in available publications; the Ukrainian side describes the damage to DTEK facilities and the blackouts as consequences of incidents involving drone debris.
