Opening of the garden as part of the OTS summit
President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, accompanied by his spouse, took part in the cultural program of the Organization of Turkic States summit in Ankara together with the heads of delegations of the organization's member states and their spouses. This was reported by the press service of the President of Uzbekistan, citing which Gazeta.uz writes.
What is displayed in the garden
The heads of state opened the garden of Turkic civilization at the Beshtepa complex in Ankara. Traditional yurts and examples of folk applied art are exhibited in the pavilions of the Turkic states located on the garden's grounds. According to the press service's description, the exhibitions reflect the historical, cultural and architectural heritage of the Turkic peoples, their achievements in science and education, traditions and modern development.
Orkhon inscriptions, competitions and Malazgirt
The heads of state viewed a copy of the ancient Orkhon inscriptions — a written monument of the Turkic peoples. The same venue hosted a demonstration of national games and performances by archers and warriors in historical costumes, after which the leaders planted oak saplings.
Visit to the Malazgirt center
The delegations then visited the Malazgirt center, whose name refers to the Battle of Manzikert on August 26, 1071, which holds an important place in the history of the Turkic peoples. The guests were shown an epic performance featuring horsemen, acrobats and stunt performers, as well as horses brought from the organization's member states.
