The Kremlin's position ahead of the Abu Dhabi talks
Kremlin press secretary Dmitry Peskov said on Friday that preparations for trilateral talks involving Russia, the United States and Ukraine do not require a halt to combat operations along the front line. According to him, Moscow does not plan to suspend military operations before the meeting, which is scheduled for November in Abu Dhabi. This was reported by the Anadolu agency citing Peskov's remarks to journalists.
Attitude toward a ceasefire and the role of the Europeans
Peskov stressed that Russia is seeking a lasting peace, not a ceasefire that would allow Ukraine to regroup its forces.
Strikes on oil refineries
When asked about the impact of Ukrainian strikes on Russian oil refineries, Peskov said they do not jeopardize the planned talks. According to him, Moscow does not intend to raise this issue at the meeting in Abu Dhabi, considering it a matter to be discussed between Washington and Kyiv.
