Program terms

Uzbekistan's Migration Agency, together with the German railway operator Deutsche Bahn, is inviting young Uzbekistanis to a three-year dual vocational training program (Ausbildung) in the specialty of railway track installer. This was reported by Gazeta.uz with reference to the agency's announcement. The dual model combines theoretical instruction with hands-on practice: according to official Deutsche Bahn data, participants work in crews on railway construction sites during their studies — laying new rails and switches, inspecting tracks and replacing damaged sections, gaining experience directly in the work process.

Pay, location and timeline

The training will be organized in the Bavarian cities of Augsburg or Munich. Participants receive a monthly stipend throughout the program: approximately 1,400 euros in the first training year, about 1,480 euros in the second and about 1,560 euros in the third. In addition, 30 days of paid leave are provided each year. German language courses — up to level B2 — will be organized in Tashkent at Deutsche Bahn's expense. Classes in Germany are expected to begin on 1 September 2027, with participants' departure scheduled for the summer of 2027.

Who can apply

Candidates must be aged 18–25, have at least nine years of schooling or be continuing their studies, and at the selection stage have German of at least level B1 with one of the Goethe, telc, ÖSD or TestDaF certificates. By departure, the language level must be raised to B2 and the exam passed successfully. Readiness for physical work outdoors, for shift schedules and, when necessary, night shifts, as well as for living and working in Germany, is also required. Technical knowledge and experience are an advantage; a category B driving licence is a plus but not mandatory. The application requires a school certificate with a transcript of grades, and, if available, a college or university diploma with an appendix. Details and applications are available on Deutsche Bahn's official page; additional information can be obtained from the Migration Agency by phone at +998 90 054 02 27.
