The ceremonial opening of the final of the Bolshaya Peremena (Big Break) competition for students in grades 8–10 took place on October 28 in the Amfiteatr concert hall of the All-Russian Children's Center Orlyonok, the Rosmolodezh press service reported. One and a half thousand schoolchildren from more than 70 Russian regions are taking part in it. For the first time, it is Orlyonok that is hosting the competition's final stage for senior students. The ceremony began with the raising of the flag, after which the participants got to know one another and the center's traditions.

Challenges, experts and partner workshops

The participants brought with them books of fairy tales, legends and epics of their peoples, in order to introduce their peers to the culture of their home regions. The finalists face competition challenges, meetings with experts and practical sessions ahead. A novelty of the seventh season is the partner workshops, where the schoolchildren will have to solve real-world tasks set by major Russian companies and organizations. Orlyonok director Alexander Dzheus, according to Life.ru, addressed the participants, saying that winning the competition would 'open up new opportunities' and allow them to 'feel the power of community'. Artur Orlov, chairman of the board of the Movement of the First, expressed confidence that taking part would help senior students demonstrate their abilities and find like-minded people. The largest number of finalists came from Moscow, Krasnodar Krai, Sverdlovsk, Rostov, Moscow, Kaluga and Nizhny Novgorod regions, Kuzbass and St. Petersburg.
