Launch and current limitations

As of October 27, 2026, in Uzbekistan the international payment service Apple Pay has officially gone live. This was reported by Gazeta, citing data from the Central Bank. The service allows users of Apple devices to add a bank card to Apple Wallet and make purchases via iPhone, Apple Watch and other compatible devices.

Which banks are already connected

At the moment, Apple Pay supports Visa and Mastercard cards issued by eight banks: Uzum (Visa), Orient Finans Bank, National Bank Uzbekistan, Kapitalbank, Ipak Yuli Bank, TBC Bank and Octobank (Visa and Mastercard), as well as Hamkorbank (Visa only). The regulator emphasized that the service's availability will be expanded gradually — depending on the technical readiness of banks and payment systems.

What about local cards

The main practical limitation of the launch: cards of the national payment systems Uzcard and Humo cannot yet be added. According to the Central Bank, work on their integration is ongoing, and «the option to connect them to the service will be presented in the near future». This means that, for now, the service is available only to holders of international cards from the listed banks, while the bulk of local cards will gain access later — the regulator did not specify exact timeframes.
