Preliminary results of the elections in Serbia
The opposition bloc backed by students has won the early parliamentary elections in Serbia, receiving 52.71% of the vote. The Republican Electoral Commission (RIK) announced these preliminary results on Monday, Anadolu reports. The 'Student List — Students Will Win' list received 2.26 million votes, corresponding to 140 seats in the 250-seat National Assembly. The figures were tallied from 8,187 of 8,392 polling stations.
Results of the other participants
The list of President Aleksandar Vucic, 'United Serbia', received 39.17% of the vote — about 1.68 million — and, according to the commission's forecast, around 104 mandates. The Socialist Party of Serbia led by Ivica Dacic gained 2.17% but did not win a single seat in parliament. Four lists of national minorities also entered the assembly. According to the commission, more than 4.3 million voters cast ballots at the counted polling stations, of which 4.24 million ballots were declared valid. The results remain preliminary: the count does not cover all polling stations, and the final figures may be adjusted.
