The shortest working month of 2027
As is traditional, January will be the shortest working month in 2027: Russians will work 15 days in it. RIA Novosti was told this by Alexander Yuzhalin, head of legal practice at SuperJob; the reduction is linked to the New Year holidays. Thus, tafs.uz readers can plan the start of the year in advance: long holidays will be followed by a short working month, and then by the usual schedule.
Holidays and weekend transfers
The parameters of the upcoming holidays were previously described by Evgeny Masharov, a member of the Civic Chamber commission for public oversight and work with citizens' appeals: the New Year holidays will last 11 days — from Thursday, December 31, 2026, to Sunday, January 10, 2027. According to him, the government approves a schedule of weekend transfers every year to balance working and rest time. For 2027, the Labor Ministry proposed moving Saturday, January 2, to Friday, November 5; Sunday, January 3, to Friday, December 31; and Saturday, February 20, to Monday, February 22.
Context
Earlier, Russians were reminded about the only short working week of the autumn — those publications relate to the current calendar and do not change the picture for 2027. Note that the estimates of the holidays' duration and the number of working days in January are given in the sources based on the speakers' words (a SuperJob representative and a member of the Civic Chamber), and the final schedule of transfers is approved by the government annually.
