A comeback at San Siro

Inter scored twice in stoppage time on Sunday to snatch a 2-1 win over Fiorentina, reclaiming first place in Serie A, AFP reports. Alex Jimenez's goal — the former Milan player catching debutant Inter goalkeeper Ivan Provedel off guard with a long-range strike into the top corner — put the visitors ahead against the run of play in the 65th minute. Marcus Thuram equalized in the 91st minute and then won a penalty himself, converted by Piotr Zieliński in the 98th minute.

The table and Chivu's reaction

The win lifted Inter into first place with 22 points, level with surprise co-leaders Lazio. Fiorentina's winless run stretched to four matches, and the side remains 18th. It was Inter's fifth comeback of the season, and the team has now conceded for the tenth time, but head coach Cristian Chivu is not worried about the defensive issues.

Juventus and Milan wins

In the evening, Juventus ended their poor run with a 2-0 win over Lecce — Weston McKennie scored after a Douglas Luiz free kick, and the Brazilian added one himself — lifting the team to seventh place and easing some of the pressure on coach Luciano Spalletti after the 3-0 home defeat to Lazio and the draw with Rennes in the Europa League. Lecce finished with ten men: Kialonda Gaspar was sent off in the final minute. Milan, after their heavy Europa League defeat to Bournemouth, beat Udinese 2-0 thanks to Christian Pulisic (following a long pass from Luka Modrić) and Omari Hutchinson, who scored his first goal for the club. The Rossoneri kept their unbeaten start in the league, moved level with third-placed Roma on 18 points and recorded their first away win in the league, while Udinese lost their sixth match in a row.

Other results of the round

In Bergamo, Atalanta and Frosinone produced an eight-goal 4-4 thriller in which both teams came back twice; Atalanta's winless run reached three matches, while the visitors stayed sixth. Genoa, thanks to a goal from Mikael Ellertsson, beat Venezia 1-0, moved up to 16th place and climbed out of the relegation zone, while Davide Nicola's side remained bottom.
