According to the press service of the capital's Main Internal Affairs Department, officers on duty received a message from the operational control center that a wanted person was on the premises of the complex. Video of the incident spread on social media.

Escape and collision with a car

When officers located the citizen and began checking his details via a tablet, he attempted to flee. During the escape, he collided with a BYD car and shattered its windshield, but despite this, continued running. As a result of the operational actions of the internal affairs officers, the man was detained and taken to the internal affairs department of the Shaykhantahur district.

Reason for the wanted status and further actions

According to the Main Internal Affairs Department, the citizen had been repeatedly summoned to participate in investigative procedures but failed to appear, for which he was placed on the wanted list, and a decision was made to forcibly bring him in. The detainee was handed over to the investigative department of the internal affairs bodies of the Sergeli district.

Words of the detainee

“Officers of the Sergeli district internal affairs department summoned me several times to participate in investigative procedures. I did not appear. Because I did not come, I was placed on the wanted list. Time passed, but in the end I was detained anyway. Nowadays there are modern technologies everywhere — cameras, Face ID. It turns out I should have come on time when I was summoned,” UzNews.uz quotes the detainee as saying. According to Zamon.uz, the man expressed regret over his actions and stated his readiness to answer before the law.

Investigation

At present, verification measures are being carried out with regard to the detainee, both outlets report, citing the Tashkent Main Internal Affairs Department.
