Statement in Oslo
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said at a press conference in Oslo that Starlink satellite communications in Ukraine could be up and running within 48 hours after his talks with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio. “We decided that perhaps in 48 hours we will have connectivity again,” Life.ru quotes him as saying.
Topics of the talks
According to Zelensky, his conversation with Rubio touched on issues of access to communications, supplies of interceptors, and intelligence data. He handed the American side a list of urgent demands regarding Starlink.
Resumption of intelligence sharing
Earlier, Zelensky said that the US had resumed sharing intelligence data with Ukraine: Kyiv is once again receiving information from Washington about Russian ballistic missile launches. He thanked the American side for restoring the early warning system that allows Ukrainian forces to learn in advance about approaching threats. At the same time, as he noted, restrictions on the use of satellite communications remain in place for now.
