Attack in Lgov

A pensioner was injured in a Ukrainian drone attack in Kursk region, the head of the region Alexander Khinshtein said on his channel in the Max messenger. According to him, the drone struck a railway locomotive in Lgov. A 73-year-old woman who was near the impact site suffered shrapnel wounds to her lower limbs. The governor stressed that the information about the injuries is preliminary. “She will receive first aid on the spot, and if necessary we will take her to Kursk”, Khinshtein added.

Overnight raid across the country

Russia’s Ministry of Defense reported that on the night of October 21, 373 Ukrainian drones were shot down over the country’s territory. Some of the drones were destroyed over the Black Sea. The attacks were repelled in Krasnodar Krai, the Moscow region, Crimea and 10 regions, including Kursk, Smolensk, Oryol, Tver, Belgorod, Novgorod, Kaluga, Ryazan, Tula and Bryansk.

Damage in the Tuapse district

According to the operational headquarters of Krasnodar Krai, drone fragments fell on the territory of the Tuapse municipal district. There, two non-residential private houses and three buildings on the grounds of a health resort enterprise were found damaged. Earlier it was reported that one person was killed in St. Petersburg during the overnight drone raid.

Context

Reports of the injured woman in Lgov and the large-scale overnight raid indicate that the attacks affected both transport infrastructure and civilian facilities in several regions simultaneously — from Kursk region to the Tuapse district. The scale of the repelled attack (373 drones according to the Ministry of Defense) and the casualties in different regions show that, on the first night, targets far from the front line came under attack. There are still no details in the publications about the condition of the injured woman or the extent of the damage to the locomotive; the governor explicitly noted that the data on the injuries is preliminary.
