The key facts

  • Anita Tsoy bought a cemetery plot and discussed burial arrangements with her family
  • The singer's family already has two crypts — on both sides
  • In the summer of 2026, Tsoy denied cancer rumors, attributing her hospitalization to Graves' disease

The singer took care of her burial in advance

People's Artist of Russia Anita Tsoy told Channel Five at the celebration of MUZ-TV's 30th anniversary that she has already bought herself a cemetery plot and discussed with her relatives how they would like to make their final journey. According to her, the family already has two crypts — on her relatives' side and on her husband's family's side.

Reasoning behind the purchase

Tsoy explained the decision with practical considerations: “It's better to buy all of this today than in ten years, when prices will be driven up even more.” She views her own death without fear or superstition and considers buying a cemetery plot as practical a matter as buying an apartment.

The family's reaction

Her relatives initially did not appreciate her approach. “Of course, at first the conversation was met with hostility. They decided I had lost my mind,” the singer admitted. Now, according to her, the family calmly discusses even the choice between traditional burial and cremation. Tsoy believes it is important to preserve family burial sites so that descendants can visit the graves of their ancestors and remember the family's history.

Impression of a Korean memorial park

The artist was impressed by a memorial park in South Korea, where trees and shrubs grow instead of the usual gravestones, and the names of the deceased are indicated on small plaques. According to Tsoy, people go there not only to honor the memory of loved ones but also simply to stroll among the greenery.

Background: illness rumors

In the summer, Anita Tsoy denied rumors of a fatal illness. She explained that her hospitalization at an oncology center was connected not with cancer but with Graves' disease — an autoimmune thyroid condition — for which she required treatment with radioactive iodine, since the previous therapy had stopped helping.
