Monitoring system near airports
The joint-stock company Uzbekistan Airports is implementing an automatic system for monitoring the quality of atmospheric air near the country's airports, Kun.uz reports citing the company.
Where the stations are installed
As reported, a station has already been installed in Fergana, while in Samarkand the work on installing and adjusting similar equipment has been completed. In the future, installation of stations near other airports is also planned. The equipment, designed for round-the-clock monitoring of the air condition, is placed within the boundaries of the airports' sanitary protection zones.
What the stations measure
The stations measure concentrations of pollutants, including nitrogen dioxide, sulfur dioxide, carbon monoxide, ozone, ammonia and hydrogen sulfide, as well as fine particulate matter PM2.5 and PM10. At the same time, the system records air temperature and humidity, atmospheric pressure, wind speed and direction.
Data transmission
The measurement results are automatically transmitted to the unified geoinformation database of the environmental monitoring system.
