Growth in demand for Yandex Go competitors
After the large-scale Yandex Go outage that occurred on October 11, demand for alternative taxi-hailing services in Tashkent rose sharply. Market participants told Spot about this. Uklon stated that from October 11 to 13, the number of orders created was 2–3 times higher than average figures for comparable days. Uklon's General Manager in Uzbekistan Eduard Kovtun added that the number of active users of the platform on certain days more than doubled, and the number of new drivers who joined the service during this period increased roughly 10-fold.
MyTaxi's figures
MyTaxi, which operates only within Tashkent, recorded a more significant increase: the average number of orders grew 15-fold, and, according to the press service, demand continues to grow. About 20–25% of the increase in orders is attributable to new users. The number of drivers going online tripled, but only about 10% of them were new — mostly drivers already registered with the service became active. The company noted that the infrastructure is handling the load, and the average car arrival time is 2.5 minutes depending on the district and car class.
Service stability and plans
Uklon reported that the service continued to operate stably even under a sharp increase in load: the target platform availability indicator is 99.98%, while the actual figure, according to the company, reaches about 99.99%. MyTaxi emphasized that all of the service's servers are located in Uzbekistan, the company uses its own maps and does not depend on anyone else's infrastructure. The service plans to retain new users with promo codes and partnership offers, and to attract drivers with special commission terms. "As always, we have many plans. The main task is to preserve demand. To do this, we need to give users the opportunity to ride cheaper: we have partnership mechanics, and we will also offer users promo codes. In this way, we will incentivize drivers by offering newly connected drivers unique commission terms. We must ensure they earn decently. Also on the agenda is improving our maps. Follow updates to our app and support national services!", said MyTaxi managing partner Alexey Shitov.
Cause of the Yandex Go outage
On October 11, a large-scale outage occurred in Uzbekistan affecting Yandex Go, one of the popular taxi-hailing services. Many residents were unable to order a car, were late, and changed their plans. The cause was an emergency shutdown of the company's data center in Russia, which was damaged as a result of a drone attack. Since Yandex services use a shared distributed infrastructure, the accident affected the operation of the apps in other countries as well, including Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan. Spot also looked into which taxi-hailing services exist in Uzbekistan, how much a ride costs in each of them, and whether a car can still be ordered by phone. Earlier, Spot reported that taxi aggregators in Uzbekistan paid more in taxes in 8 months than in all of 2025.
