Germany declines FIFA youth World Cup for under-15s where Russia's national team returned
An unconventional FIFA tournament for under-15 players has begun in Azerbaijan: 189 teams, eight-a-side matches of 20 minutes each. Germany and 21 other countries declined to take part, 18 of them from UEFA. Ukraine said a number of countries did not want to play against Russia, which is taking part in a FIFA tournament for the first time since its 2022 suspension.
