Russian drug Dipiaron for type 2 diabetes enters the second phase of trials
Dipiaron, a capsule drug developed at the Volgograd State Medical University, has passed the first phase of clinical trials. In July, the Ministry of Health authorized the second phase involving 308 patients. The drug acts on the GPR119 receptor and, according to the developers, preserved pancreatic cells in animal experiments. If the research is successful, the drug could reach the market no earlier than 2028.
