Block Unveils Dessa, a Locally Running Voice Model That Sounds Human
Jack Dorsey's company Block has launched Dessa, a full-duplex voice model trained entirely on human speech using a single NVIDIA GPU rack. The model can speak and listen simultaneously, expresses emotions, and operates locally on consumer-grade GPUs. Public access is not yet available; Block is inviting security researchers to test the system. Square already employs voice AI for order processing.
