UN WFP cuts aid for 500,000 Gaza residents due to funding shortfall
The UN World Food Programme announced a reduction of aid in Gaza: the number of recipients will fall from 1.6 million to 1.1 million people, with cash payments and hot meals cut. The reason cited is a funding deficit — the organization has received less than half of its previous funding and is requesting $400 million. Residents who have lost their homes and incomes fear a complete loss of support.
