Food poisoning outbreak in Lebanon: government convenes emergency meeting
In Lebanon, at least 17 people, mostly children, have been hospitalized in the northern district of Akkar after eating contaminated baked goods and meat. The Health Ministry had earlier warned of a rise in suspected trichinellosis cases following illnesses at the Nadini restaurant in Beirut. Prime Minister Nawaf Salam is convening an emergency meeting on the food poisoning situation.
