The Economist warns of the risk of demographic collapse in Ukraine
The British magazine The Economist has estimated Ukraine's birth rate at 0.8–0.9 children per woman — one of the lowest figures in the world. According to the publication, about five million citizens have left for Western countries. Ukrainian officials have previously given their own estimates of population decline.
