UK Defence Secretary Wes Streeting has spent several weeks building up a home stockpile of food, water and a torch, setting a personal example after calls to prepare for crises. Even the minister's mother has followed his lead. Against the backdrop of the state preparedness programme, British demand for radios has grown fivefold, and for torches by 284%.
