Rutte reminded Europe of its purchases of Russian gas amid criticism of the US-Russia diesel deal
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said that the European Union, while criticizing the American-Russian diesel deal, itself purchases large volumes of Russian LNG. According to Urgewald, in the first nine months of 2026 European ports received a record 12.18 million tons of Yamal LNG worth almost 7.9 billion euros. The implementation of the US-Russia deal has already run into tanker route changes.
