Gianni Infantino says he has the support of the 'overwhelming majority' in his bid for re-election as FIFA president
FIFA President Gianni Infantino said he enjoys the support of the 'overwhelming majority' of national federations in his bid for a fourth term. The Asian Football Confederation backed him on Friday, and the African countries did so at a meeting in Cape Verde. Two months ago, his plan to sell part of the commercial rights drew sharp criticism from UEFA, the AFC and CONCACAF, but after Infantino's apology he is once again considered the favourite for the March election.
